Customs for UK–North America shipments
Shipping to the USA requires an Importer Security Filing (ISF/10+2) at least 24 hours before loading, plus CBP import clearance on arrival. Canada requires CBSA entry and may require CFIA permits for certain goods. Mexico has its own SAT import regime. Getting documentation right before the vessel loads avoids costly port holds.

How long does sea freight from the UK to the USA take?
Typically 10–16 days to East Coast US ports (New York, Baltimore, Savannah) and 18–24 days to West Coast ports (Los Angeles, Seattle). Canada (Vancouver) is similar to US West Coast; Montreal is similar to East Coast. We'll give you exact timings with your quote.
Do you handle US Customs and CBP clearance for UK shipments?
Yes. US import customs clearance through CBP (Customs and Border Protection), ISF (Importer Security Filing) and any required permits are arranged and managed through our trusted US customs partners. We prepare UK export documentation before the cargo ships so your container is ready for CBP release on arrival.
Can you bring goods from the USA or Canada to the UK by sea?
